How It Began

Photographer Naheem Mason was born and raised in the U.S. Virgin Islands on the island of St. Thomas. In 2009, Naheem was a studio music producer and a audio engineer for the studio named, The Hot Spot / Nme Records. His interest in photography and videography grew when he tried to expand more options for his clients such as producing album covers and music videos.

The Hot Spot was later closed for business in 2011; therefore, Naheem's expensive camera was only used for recreational hobbies. The impulse to become a wedding visual artist did not come until a year later in the month of July, 2012 when he met a well-known local wedding photographer Lemuel Ryan.
Lemuel had a wedding client that also requested video production services for their wedding. As a result, he reached out to Naheem and expressed his love for Naheem's music video called, “For My Home” and asked him to produce a wedding video for his client. Naheem was honored.
During the wedding's activities, Naheem was mesmerized by how he had captured the family’s emotions, its love for the bride and groom, and the bride and groom's feelings for one another. That experience instantly started PhotoFlicks and expanded Naheem's love for weddings!
In his two years of experience, Naheem's clients have expressed that his pleasant and calm demeanour allows couples to relax and to be captured in the most memorable moments of their wedding day.
